A Holland teenager looking to make his big break in music has a great opportunity to get noticed. Joel T. Crouse, 17, a Tantasqua Regional High School graduate, is singing backup vocals on a soon-to-be-released duet by teen singing sensation Miley Cyrus and Sheryl Crow.

Crouse was in Nashville a few weeks ago working with some fellow songwriters when he got a call from his producer, Jamie Houston.

“While I was there, my producer (who is producing the single) asked me to get to a studio,” Crouse said. “I recorded the part and it was cool. It was a good experience.”

Crouse said he is not at liberty to name the song or reveal its release date.

Selena Gomez has been speaking about the pressure of being a teen icon.

Following in the footsteps of Miley Cyrus and Demi Lovato, 17-year-old Selena is the latest tween sensation from Disney and whilst she understands that children may look up to her, Selena said she can only be herself:

“I try and be the best person I can be, but I am not perfect. I am going to make mistakes. I just try and keep those mistakes to myself,” said the star.

Like Miley, Selena has numerous projects on the go at once. She currently has her own TV series called The Wizards of Waverly Place, a debut album and a movie with Nicole Kidman in the pipeline.

She has also made the papers due to relationship rumours with Nick Jonas and more recently, Twilight star Taylor Lautner. But Selena says she understands the press intrusion is just part of her job:

“I do not think you ever get used to people talking about you – or at least I won’t. I just try and understand it comes with the territory and focus on the positive things,” said the teenager.

Selena is currently in London to launch a Wizard’s of Waverly fashion range for Asda.

Timeless beauty Miley Cyrus, who promised her mom that she would live at home until she was at least 20, has broken her promise and decided to move out and live on her own. Miley Ray, just 17, told People with a laugh:

‘I got out of that! I’m actually buying a place. I haven’t moved in yet.
I’m still reconstructing and stuff.’ Tish’s reaction? ‘She’s stoked.’ Miley’s new house is ‘really, really close’ to the family’s Toluca Lake home: ‘My house is going to be gorgeous because my mom is an interior designer. It’s like if your mom’s a clothes designer you’re always going to look great. My mom’s an interior designer so my house is going to be perfect all the time.

It’s going to be a really zen space. We did all these different things to make it a place that’s so chill. Like all my couches are on the floor and I have pillows on the floor. It’s just serene, like my own kind of therapy. My religion is love, so my door is always open for anyone who wants to come in. It’s a just a loving place.’

According to the National Enquirer, Miley Cyrus pulled a prank on her dad Billy Ray Cyrus – telling him that she and boyfriend Liam Hemsworth were going to elope!
A source told the tabloid:
“Billy Ray launched into a stern lecture, telling Liam his little girl’s way too young to even THINK about getting married.”
“As Daddy-Oh ranted and raved, Liam suddenly busted up laughing — and Billy Ray went bananas!”

Miley Cyrus has opened up about why she closed down her Twitter account and how she’s enjoying life more these days.

Miley continued, “I just think it’s kind of lame. I feel like I hang out with my friends and they’re so busy taking pictures of what they’re doing and putting them on Facebook that they’re not really enjoying what they’re doing. You’re going to look back and have a million pictures, but you’re not going to be in any of them. Because you’re not having fun, you’re too busy clicking away. So I think just enjoy the moment you’re in, and stop telling people about it. Just enjoy it.”

Miley Cyrus appeals to just about everyone — including Donald Trump! Donald and one of his Celebrity Apprentice stars Bret Michaels caught up with Zap2It to chat about the 17-year-old actress.

Donald shared, “I don’t know Miley but I think she’s really got the It factor so much more so than almost anybody. She is fantastic. I watched her on one of the talk shows and, I mean, she is like a 30-year-old woman.”

Bret, who teamed up with Miley on his upcoming album, Custom Built, echoed his statement, “She’s a young pop superstar who actually has the talent. When you’re a star like that you’ve got to take the lumps that come with it and form nerves of steel. The girl can sit down and play the guitar, the piano and sing. She did a harmony on one of my songs, you know, that I did, ‘Nothing to Lose.’ And I think she’s going to break through. I see that realness in her as a musician.
