Tyler Posey is teaming up with Demi Lovato for hosting duties for NYE in NYC 2012!

The 20-year-old Teen Wolf star shared in a statement, “I love the MTV New Year’s Eve Special and am excited to be co-hosting it with Demi Lovato. I love the performances and there are some great acts lined up this year.”

So who are the performances? Selena Gomez, J Cole, Jason Derulo and Mac Miller will hit the stage to ring in the new year.

Demi added, “I’m so excited to ring in the new year in Times Square with MTV as well as share the stage with friends and amazing musicians.”

Katie Leclerc and Vanessa Marano will also stop by to say goodbye to 2011.

NYE in NYC 2012, from Times Square, will air LIVE on Saturday, December 31st @ 11PM ET/PT on MTV.

MTV will ring in the new year with a little help from our friends, including Mac Miller, J. Cole and Jason Derülo. “NYE in NYC 2012″ will air live at 11 p.m. ET on December 31 from Times Square and will also boast performances from Selena Gomez and co-host Demi Lovato.

“Teen Wolf” star Tyler Posey will be on hand to help Lovato count down the minutes to midnight on the show, which will also feature special appearances from Vanessa Marano and Katie Leclerc of “Switched at Birth.” The night’s ultimate dance party will be beamed out from MTV’s Times Square studio, and we’re preparing fans for the big party with the launch of an “NYE in NYC 2012″ page looking back at blasts from the past featuring photos, special moments, performances and other highlights.

For the first time ever, staffers from MTV News, MTV.com and MTV Music & Talent will collaborate on three different year-end lists. Beginning Monday (December 12), from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. ET, during MTV’s morning music hours, editors will take part in a spirited debate, where they will reveal their collective choices for Best EDM Artists of the Year, joined by MTV Iggy. On Wednesday, we’ll unveil the Song of the Year, and on Thursday, we’ll name our Artist of the Year.

The panel will count down their selections from #10 to #3. Each day at 4:59 p.m. ET, MTV News’ Sway Calloway will reveal the top choices and present the award to the #1 pick. The winners’ acceptance speeches will air during MTV’s primetime hours. The debates will also be featured on mtvU and MTV Hits, and stories will be featured on MTV News and various MTV.com sites.

Beginning Wednesday, fans can get in on the action by heading over to our “NYE in NYC 2012″ page to cast their votes for their favorite songs of 2011. Voting continues through December 29.

Also, viewers have until Sunday to bid on exclusive items and experiences brought together by MTV Act, including two tickets to “NYE in NYC 2012.” Proceeds will benefit the FWD Campaign, an East Africa relief effort.

Demi Lovato’s latest release, Unbroken, is garnering lots of attention thanks to its catchy tracks and empowering message. Beyond co-signs from Lovatics and a number of celebrities, including Ashley Greene, Sean Kingston and even Joe Jonas, it’s also received great reviews from the hardest people to please: the critics. But Lovato isn’t paying attention to any of it. She told MTV News she’s more focused on the here and now and the excitement of having a whole new crop of music for everyone to hear.

“I haven’t actually looked at any of the critics or reviews,” she said. “So, if they’re good, awesome; if they’re bad, whatever.”

According to reports, despite some stiff competition on the charts from the likes of Tony Bennett and Lady Antebellum, Lovato is still expected to sell pretty big. Billboard.com reports that she’ll likely sell about 110,000 copies of her album, besting her previous chart-topping release, 2009′s Here We Go Again, which sold slightly less with 108,000.

“I’m feeling really excited,” Lovato said. “The album just came out, so we’re really, really excited. And it seems to be doing well, so I’m really, really happy.”

Now that the album is getting some love and she’s readying the release of her next single, “Who’s That Boy,” it seems like a good time to start remixing tracks. “I’d love to hear the feedback on who would want to remix,” she said. “We actually have a remix on the album by Wizz Dumb, and he remixed ‘Skyscraper,’ and it sounds really awesome. You can check that out: It’s on the album.”

If anyone would jump on the album, Lil Wayne might be just the right guy. Lovato has certainly made his track “How to Love” all her own. Of a potential collaboration, she said:

“That would be amazing. I’ve never met him in my life, so if I got to be onstage with him, I would just die.”

There should be a formula for Disney stars turned wannabe hit makers and chart-topping artists. Unlike her predecessors Hillary Duff and Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato has crafted an interesting and impressive set with Unbroken that makes a creative statement while not alienating her loyal, Disney fan base.

Unbroken is the perfect journey for a 19-year-old girl who’s still trying to find her way in a world clogged with too much emphasis on sex appeal and very little on talent. Lovato, however, breaks the mold set by current pop divas Lady Gaga, Britney Spears, Ke$ha, and Katy Perry to shift the musical landscape into heartfelt and sincere songs that simply cater to the theatrical crowd.

The first four tracks are mostly star-studded affairs, but they are what help establish her journey. Also, these four tracks – “All Night Long,” “Who’s That Boy,” “You’re My Shorty,” and “Together” – are what will satisfy her built-in fan base.

With the next track comes the album’s first tear-jerking moment, “Lightweight,” and there is almost an audible, crunching shift in its tone from dance-club-ready jams to gut-wrenching and emotional performances. “I’m a lightweight, easy to fall, easy to break, with every move my world shakes,” Lovato cries in the chorus. Her emotional delivery here soaks through from a place of absolute pleading. As a highlight of Unbroken, “Lightweight,” would have been the perfect album opener, though its place in the set makes it a delightful surprise.

Taking a cue from Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale, “Unbroken,” the title track, has a cleverly delicious keyboard and electric backing. “I’m gonna love you like I’ve never been broken,” Lovato sings. Even though a brittle dance beat supports her vocals, the emotional energy punctures its way into the ear drums. A fist-pumping anthem, its lyrics are heavy and meaningful, surging through the veins. This track, in all its synthesized glory, fittingly sets up the piano-driven gem, “Fix a Heart,” which is a desperate however heartfelt plea of sorts. “I try to sever ties and I ended up with wounds to bind like you’re pouring salt in my cuts,” she swoons on the first verse. Lovato’s pain runs so deep that this soul-baring song feels like a punch in the gut. If she’s learned one thing this past year, it’s how to be brutally and often painfully honest.

Lovato continues to pour on the heavy emotional syrup with the next three tracks – “Hold Up,” “Mistake,” and “Give Your Heart a Break” – without skimping on the electrically forceful instrumentation. The album then takes on its most autobiographical tone with the climactic “Skyscraper,” which contains some of Lovato’s finest vocals to date. She pulls back, belts, and sweetly sings in all the right places to deliver the performance of her career.

“In Real Life” and “My Love is Like a Star,” despite lacking a similarly deep or emotional impact, further illustrate her growth and maturity as a credible artist. Save for the Wizz Dumb Remix of “Skyscraper,” “For the Love of a Daughter” takes a page right out of her life, closing out the album in stunning, tear-inducing style.

While Demi Lovato certainly has more growing to do, on Unbroken she suggests that over time she will prove herself more than capable. Lesser pop divas should take note from Miss Lovato she knows what she’s doing.

Miley Cyrus is working hard in the music studio and now she has a song to prove it! It was rumored the the former teen queen was working on a song with Johnzo West called “Glorious”. Well, part of the rumor is true and part of it isn’t. West recently confirmed the collaboration with this tweet:

Miley is back and ready to reinvent her music style with cool collaborations. At press time, we don’t know the name of the song or when it is supposed to be released. Are you excited for this? We are! I wonder what this means for her music career. I have a feeling that this won’t be the only collaboration on her next project. Who would you like to see Miley work with? I would love to see her work with Demi Lovato or Lady Gaga. Its great to see her grow up and change direction in the entertainment industry- if she continues to go in the direction she is right now, I predict a very bright future for her. Demi Lovato is VH1s September’s Posted artist for the month, which she filmed her own special message for the honor. She was also called the most talented person by her former co-star Allisyn Ashley Arm. Both are huge honors that join her long list of them that she got since late last year. Once again, Demi has proven herself as someone who can come out on top after having the odds stacked against her. You can find both videos at the bottom of this post.

Demi is working so hard now that she has come clean of her issues. She really seems to be always up to something in one way or another, which is not bad. We have seeing the most creative side of her yet and I doubt this trend will end any time soon. She appears to be on a stride that is good for her. As Allisyn said before, Demi is extremely talented and her co-stars miss her so much. Hopefully she can do a performance on So Random.

How do you feel about Demi getting all of this positive support? I think that is important for her recovery process, which is still going on now and perhaps for the rest of her life. She is so brave to go public with this story. I think we can all say that she has earned the support she has in more than one way. For someone her age to be ready to deal with this in the public takes a certain level of maturity, which she has.

The 2011 NCLR ALMA Awards announced Wednesday that pop star and actress Demi Lovato will perform a bilingual version of her newest single, “Skyscraper,” on the awards show airing live Sept. 16 from 8 to 9 p.m. ET on NBC. Two more performers have yet to be named by the event’s producers.

We have Demi Lovato peforming her hit single, ‘Skyscraper,’ in English and Spanish,” one of the event’s producers and co-host, Desperate Housewives star Eva Longoria, tells reporters on a press call. [It] is so exciting,” she continues. “Because it was number one on iTunes, she is one of our own, and she came up with the idea of singing partly in Spanish.”

Lovato is also nominated for Favorite TV Actress — Leading Role in a Comedy at this year’s event. The event’s presenters include Jessica Alba, Benjamin Bratt, Eva La Rue, Mario Lopez, and Naya Rivera. “We just have really great participation this year,” Longoria says. George Lopez will co-host with Longoria on the awards show, which honors the work of Latinos in entertainment.
