So when Gomez looks back on 2011, what will she remember most? “To be honest, it would probably be when my series ended and not in, like, a happy way, but it was kind of like it was a new chapter in my life,” she told MTV News. “I think it was a really interesting time for me and that time in this year was probably my favorite.”
The series wrapped filming earlier this year, but will continue airing into early 2012.
While saying goodbye to her show resonated with the star, she could have never foreseen how big her We Own the Night Tour would be. “My music, for sure, [surprised me], like touring. I definitely was excited to get on the road and be able [to have] my first headlining tour,” she said. “I was excited to go everywhere and meet my fans and experience different places. To be honest, I didn’t expect the tour to do as well as it did, and we went to Canada and Canada was amazing and made me feel very humbled.”
As 2011 rolls along, Gomez is going into the coming year with the same philosophy she had for the last. “I feel like this approach of this year, I wasn’t expecting any of the things that happened,” she said. “And so I just kind of want to go into the end of this year and the beginning of next year just excited and in a good place and not planning anything.”
Before the new year does come along, Gomez has some plans to just spend the holidays with those she loves. “I’m gonna have a week off for Thanksgiving, which will be nice, and then a week and a half or two weeks for Christmas time,” she said. “And then I’m going to just relax and do nothing.”
She has a busy year ahead of her that includes hitting the set of her next film, “Spring Breakers,” co-starring James Franco, Vanessa Hudgens and Emma Roberts.
Selena Gomez gets up, close and natural in this new shot from the November 2011 issue of Interview magazine.
“Nobody has seen me like that before For one, I’m not smiling—which is refreshing,” the 19-year-old actress/musician (in Dolce & Gabbana) says of the shoot.
Selena also chats about life after Wizards of Waverly Place, saying she’s looking for more complicated roles: “I’m the type to show up on David Fincher’s doorstep and say, ‘I promise I’ll be good!’ What happens next—that’s the scary-slash-brilliant part.”

Jennifer chatted exclusively with JJJ and told us that even though she got to play a Cinderella-like character in the episode, her personal favorite fairytale character is Belle from Beauty and the Beast!
“Beauty and the Beast was my end all as a kid,” Jennifer said, “I liked that she was a strong woman. She was a book nerd. She wasn’t just the swooning princess. She didn’t have to be taken care of.”

Debby Ryan’s Disney Channel Original Series “Jessie” set was paid a visit by none other than celebrity power couple Selena Gomez and Justin Bieber. Selena has Tweeted recently that she misses her Disney Channel Original Series “Wizards of Waverly Place,” so it’s no surprise that she wanted to go back and visit the studio.
Here’s what Debby had to say about Selena and Justin visiting the set:
“You know they’re both obviously iconic. Beyond being iconic, they’re trailblazers in their own right, in their own empires. Especially with Justin Bieber, he didn’t start out with a microphone and say make me a pop star, he played drums, he played guitar and wrote songs. He was like lets do this. He has a heart for music, that’s why he is successful. Those are the kinds of people I love my kids [her 'Jessie' co-stars] looking up to. It was so cool and they were such dolls. What’s so cool about Justin is that while Selena was saying hi to her people and walking around and what not, he was in back taking calls, in the back kind of watching and observing, like the boyfriend.”
Do you think it’s cute that Selena and Justin do just about everything together? Let us know in the comments section!
