02e2f9d64a835b286dee08a4483f9ac7 Did Jennifer Stone Inspire Victoria Beckhams New Baby Name?

It looks like Jennifer Stone — or at least her character on Wizards of Waverly Place — may have inspired Victoria and David Beckham’s new daughter’s name!

David and Victoria welcomed Harper Seven Beckham into the world over the weekend and according to The Daily Mail, Harper’s big brothers — Romeo, Cruz and Brooklyn — had a hand in naming her.

“The entire family had input – Victoria and David love the name, but it was the boys who actually came up with it,” a source told the paper. “Victoria loved it because it’s an Olde English name and even though Harper is an American by birth, she will always have English roots.”

David also used to read books based on the Wizards Of Waverly Place series to the three boys when they were younger.

WHAT DO YOU THINK of the name Harper Seven?

“Wizards of Waverly Place” star David Henrie was recently given another shot at writing an episode for the series, after writing his first in 2010. Now, with his episode “Meet The Werewolves” set to air on June 17 on the Disney Channel, the multi-talented actor tells OnTheRedCarpet.com correspondent Chris Balish about his writing process, career aspirations and his philanthropy.

“It’s my second episode for the show. It’s a blessing, creatively to get to do this. It’s something that I’ve always wanted to do. Here’s my second at bat at it,” Henrie told Balish on the set of the popular series, which co-stars Selena Gomez.

On the show, Henrie and Gomez play siblings in the Italian-Mexian Russo family who are wizards in training living in Manhattan. The fourth season of the series, which will be Gomez’s last, airs its finale on June 24.

The actor says he learned a lot from his first time writing, which made his second effort go a little smoother. “When you write something it’s from your mind so you get so attached to it and for reasons being time cuts or when things aren’t working, you gotta be willing to cut things,” he said. “So it was much easier this time and it’s all for the better good of the script.”

“I would love to write more and continue to write for the show. To get to do it on a professional level and have it on ‘Wizards’ — it was absolutely amazing,” he added.

So what does he love so much about the writing process? Henrie says, “I just love being in the room, the rewriting process, getting to pitch jokes, break the stories with them, all of that.” The actor adds, “It’s really a family here and it’s really a team effort. So to get to be a part of that process behind the curtain it was great.”

The 21-year-old, who has made appearances on “How I Met Your Mother” and “That’s So Raven,” says he doesn’t want to stop at writing, “I would love to direct, that would be so much fun. We’ve all been doing it so long that we definitely know the process.”

“I think if you can control your future and sort of lay the bricks of your own foundation then that’s the best way to go,” he added. “I want to control my own future. The people I admire are the Apatows out there, the Sandlers, you know Vince Vaughn’s whole company. They sort of do their own thing.”

Teen star Selena Gomez says she shed quite a few tears over the weekend as she shot the last scenes for her hit TV show “Wizards of Waverly Place.”

“It was bittersweet. … I obviously cried a lot,” Gomez said in a telephone interview Monday from Los Angeles. “It was really, really hard.”

Gomez became a star playing Alex Russo on the Disney Channel smash about three siblings who are training to be wizards in New York City.

Over the weekend, she tweeted a photo of herself arm-in-arm with co-stars David Henrie (Justin Russo) and Jake T. Austin (Max Russo) heading to set for the last time.

“They called us to set and normally they call us separately … that morning they’re like, we want to bring you all in together,” said Gomez. “I just held on to them. It was really depressing.”

Gomez said the cast had a party Sunday where they danced, watched a blooper reel and said their goodbyes.

She even received a special souvenir.

“I took my wand that I’ve cast my spells (with) for the last four years,” Gomez said.

“It’s in a little box in a frame, so hopefully I’ll be able to hang it up in my house … they gave it to my brothers and I.”

On Monday morning, the reality of her post-”Wizards” life was beginning to sink in.

“It’s very weird to know that I won’t have my dressing room to go back to tomorrow morning,” said the 18-year-old Texas native.

“It’s kind of strange. But I’m ready, I think.”

She has more than a few upcoming projects to help with the transition.

On June 19, Gomez will host the MuchMusic Video Awards in Toronto, where Lady Gaga, the Black Keys, Avril Lavigne and Bruno Mars are scheduled to perform. She’ll follow in the footsteps of other former Disney stars who took on MMVAs hosting duties, including the Jonas Brothers and Miley Cyrus.

The singer/actress says she became a fan of MuchMusic while shooting two movies in Toronto and was flattered to be asked to participate in this year’s street bash.

And while she’s rumoured to be dating teen heart-throb Justin Bieber, Gomez admitted that she also carries a bit of a torch for Mars.

“I’m obsessed with Bruno Mars, I really think he’s extremely talented,” she said. “I kind of have a crush on him.”

A few days after her hosting duties, the latest Selena Gomez and the Scene album, “Otherside,” will drop and the singer will head out on her first tour.

If that isn’t enough to satisfy fans, the star’s latest movie “Monte Carlo” — co-starring Cory Monteith of “Glee” fame — is due to hit theatres July 1.

Gomez said she wants to continue to make music and movies, but feels like she has something to prove on the acting side now that “Wizards” is behind her.

“I feel as if I have to gain credit with new audiences,” she said.

After doing comedy for a few years, the actress says it would be nice to try something different.

Still, many teen stars have been criticized for sexing up their images after leaving wholesome TV shows and Gomez seems wary of alienating her rabid tween supporters.

“I would never want to do anything to make my fans uncomfortable because they are extremely loyal and they’ve been with me for the past five years,” she said.

“If anything, I just want to choose roles that they can all see and all kind of grow with me, if that makes sense.”

Season 4 episodes of “Wizards” are airing on Family Channel. The network is planning a Selena Gomez marathon on June 15.

On Fridays I do a live audience taping of Wizards of Waverly Place, – I play Alex Russo – which doesn’t finish until about 9pm. I’ll be exhausted after getting up at 7am all week for rehearsals and filming, but then I go into hair and make-up and shoot the show in front of 200 kids, and suddenly I’m on cloud nine. You hear them laughing and they’re holding posters and wearing Wizards shirts and my adrenalin shoots right up.

Afterwards, I’m always like, “we should go do something”, which usually means dinner with the other members of the cast somewhere in Los Angeles. If I get my own way we go to PF Chang’s. Do you have it in Britain? It’s a Chinese restaurant chain that does delicious egg rolls and crispy wantons.

In an ideal world though I’d be spending the weekend in Texas, which means taking a lunchtime flight out of LA. I was born in Grand Prairie, a city in Dallas County, and I absolutely love going back to stay with my grandparents.

I’ll spend the afternoon catching up with my Nana and then I’ll surprise my 11-year-old cousin Brooke by picking her up from school. It makes my day seeing the look on her face when she spies me waving at her from the school gate.

We have this cute Starbucks just next to my Nana’s house which I use as a rendezvous when I get back to Texas. Brooke and I will drive around picking up my friends and then we’ll all ride in one car for hot chocolates. My friends and I won’t have seen each other for ages so we’ll have lots to fill each other in on.

On the way back to my nana’s house we’ll go to Blockbuster and rent a couple of horror movies because they’re my speciality. I love getting scared watching really cheesy films like Halloween and I Know What You Did Last Summer.

We’ll lay a bunch of mattresses out in the living room and have a slumber party, with lots of popcorn and takeout junk food, and we’ll fall asleep watching movies. We don’t get much sleep though because we can’t stop talking.

We wake up early on Saturday and go to Cracker Barrel for breakfast. It’s an incredible Southern-style restaurant that does the most delicious pancakes and buttermilk biscuits and homemade hashbrowns with cheese and onions. I usually ask for the table next to the fireplace because it’s so cosy and adorable.

We’ll then go to Galleria in Dallas, my all-time favourite mall. When I’m home I love shopping with my friends and helping them pick out stuff. At Galleria there’s Banana Republic, American Girl, Macy’s, Abercrombie & Fitch and Saks Fifth Avenue. There’s also an ice-skating rink, but we’re usually too busy trying on clothes for that.

My Nana will be cooking a meal when we get home and I’ll help her make the table. Hopefully my entire family will be there: Nana, Poppa, Mom, my stepdad, two of my cousins and three of my best friends. I visit all my friends and relations when I’m in Texas, but these are the core people that travel everywhere with me in a pack.

We’ll eat roast chicken with buttered squash with pepper and my Mom’s cheesy potatoes, which are chopped up potatoes and cheese baked in the oven with dried onions on top, then cake or ice cream for dessert. Poppa and I like Rocky Road best, with lots of almonds, chocolate and marshmallow.

I’ll have a girls’ night out that evening with my cousin Priscilla – she’s six months older than me and is like my sister because I don’t have any siblings. My parents divorced when I was five. Priscilla and I spend ages getting all dressed up and then go to a barbecue party and hang out with her friends, who I guess are kind of like my friends now, too. I’ll get home about midnight and stay up talking to Nana and my Mom, who will want to hear about my evening.

On Sunday I’ll probably sleep in because I never get to do that during the week and then my “pack” will go for lunch at the West Village in Dallas. It’s a really cute outdoor shopping centre built in a New York-style with hundreds of shops.

My friends and I will go to the bowling alley after that. I’m not good at it but I find it really fun. I like to call myself a different name on the score screen, like Princess Fancypants or Cheryl Cole.

By now it’ll be getting close to the time when I have to fly back to California, so I spend the rest of the afternoon at home with my family. I always get really sad when I have to leave. We sit and talk about what’s coming up for me, and inevitably my Nana will pull out my baby pictures and my Mom’s first headshot from when she was an actress, and then my first headshot from when I was seven and started as an actress.

California is two hours behind Texas so when I land in LA I gain time. I’ll phone Jennifer, who plays my best friend on Wizards of Waverly Place, and say: “I need to see you.” I definitely don’t want to be left alone with the Sunday blues so we go for dinner at Maggiano’s, an Italian-American restaurant in the Farmers Market, or we’ll catch a late movie.

When I finally get into bed I’ll read through the latest script for Wizards. Then I’ll watch Friends because that’s my favourite show and I always have to fall asleep to it. It’s like my Sunday night routine.

Do you believe in the spirit world?
I do believe in having good energy. My dad says that when you get the chills, someone’s walked over your grave and that really freaks me out.

Inspiration?
Cheryl Cole. I love her.

If you could do any other job, what would it be?
I’d be a chef.

Last film you watched?
The Break-Up. I have it on my laptop and can’t stop watching it.

Your favourite restaurant?
Maggiano’s in Los Angeles.

Beach or snow?
Skiing. We actually get snow in Texas.

How do you relax?
I love a bubble bath.

What irritates you most?
When people are impolite.

In another life I would be …
A bird.

My last supper would be …
Spicy spaghetti.

My favourite things
My sweatpants – I own so many
Taylor Swift. I talk to her every day
Singing and dancing
My family
Clothes shopping
Going to the movies
My rescue dogs

We’ve got the full scoop on what it’s really like to work with Selena on ‘Wizards of Waverly Place!’

Maria Canals Barrera spoke with HollywoodLife.com on the Orange Carpet at the Kids’ Choice Award on April 2, and she dished about her Disney co-star Selena Gomez!

Even though Selena acts so poised and mature all the time, Maria says she is super sweet and innocent on the set!

“There’s a part of her [Selena] because she’s only 18, that’s still that sweet little girl,” Maria reveals.

Maria adds that her costar, Jennifer Stone, 18, is the same exact way. Jennifer comes across as cool, calm, and collected on camera. But behind the scenes, Maria says she’s just an everyday teenager.
